Ok, so.. I couldn't find a " Introduce yourself here Thread". I guess I'll do it here.
My name is Mike. Mikejoe through out the online vw world(basically ontario).
I'm currently living in Ontario, just north of Toronto. I work at VW/AUDI dealership. My job is that of Detailing sold used cars.
I'm also a photographer. My subject of choice, from day one, is Automobiles... mainly German autos.
I started in the VW scene with a 71 super beetle... well it looked like a super beetle... I did so much metal replacement and custom work to it (it was on air bags) that there probably wasnt that much German steel in it.
I traded that bug for a 1960.
when i got it..
6 months later...
At the end of 2008, I sold the '60 to fund a new addiction... Photography.

Early in 2009, I needed a car cause I sold my truck. So I picked up a 1983 TD Jetta... from the guy I sold my bug to.
These are pics as of afew days ago...
So... now to the point of this whole intro...
In May/June, I'm going to be moving out to Calgary. I need a change of scenery... Ive been here in ontario for too long! and since my girlfriend is now attending school out there, I've been out that way afew times. So needless to say, I'm SOLD on the scenery (from a photographers view) and I think something different will be good for me.
At this point, I dont think I'll be making the initial trip out in my jetta. It needs some work.. clutch, timing belt, brakes tie rods, ebrake cable, injector pump... And doing this on such short notice, I wont be able to afford to get all that stuff done in time. So eventually (depending on the costs) I might fly back and drive out, or find a mk3 TD out there. ??
SO yeah, I'm coming out to Calgary. I'd like to come out to meets and events and get to know people in the local scene. And of course take photos.

Wow...really winds & snow...man, got home and locked myself in my office to work. Haven't looked outside since I got in. Felt a couple of sprinkles when getting in the door and that was it...arghh, sometimes you gotta hate Calgary weather.
