    Re: My 09 GTI

Nothing over the top, but I did receive my Clear side markers that I ordered, also my new Antenna (should knock off a few seconds now from 0-60 haha)

Here's the Clear markers with the OEM whip.

    Before and After

    Lights on

Install on the side markers took probably 5 mins in total for for both. Kept the stock bulbs (white)

    My Stub

Antenna took literally 30 seconds to put on. Quality wise, I don't mind since I listen to my iTouch. But in case if anyone was curious, I drove around and found that there's not much difference between the OEM whip and the new antenna.

Anyways, intake will be installed either close to the end of this month or early May when I com back from vacation. Coils will follow soon after.

Will definitely take pics before and after, also maybe a DIY for the coils. Hopefully I'll be able to get some better quality pics of the car too.

Yeah I'm pretty stoked about getting everything installed. Can't wait for the intake.

I'll be heading down south to Florida at the end of this month for 2 weeks. Should be awesome. I was thinking of maybe possibly heading down to Forge in Orlando since I'll be there for Disneyworld. Just not to sure if I'll have enough time to get around to it. Roatan looks amazing have fun!

                  Re: My 09 GTI

Okay guys here's the install that my buddy Max did with the Forge Twintake.

Here's all the parts layed out nicely

Unscrewed the MAF sensor from the pipe.

The OEM intake pulled out of the engine bay, the intake itself is a huge motherf%$!

Oil on the rubber piece that connects the pipe to the turbo inlet

Installing the new Forge intake pipe

Side shot of the CF cannisters with the filter inside.

                  The finished product

This thing sounds awesome and personally, I think worth every penny. All in all I'm pretty happy with it. C&C welcomed.

Nice work luuluu, Forge Twintake right? No kidding the stock intake is just a big space filler. I noticed a big of oil in my rubber piece to the turbo inlet also. (catch can on order!) It took me forever to get that one piece off because my channel locks kept slipping on the damn clamp! I'm so glad I got rid of those. I can take my intake off in no time now.

I don't really understand the twin filter thing..... its highly doubtful that a 2.0L engine maxes out a single pipe....(and filter) Looks cool though...

Yea it's a pretty sweet intake if you ask me. The car seems to respond a lot better and quicker. I love it. The stock intake takes so much space its ridiculous haha, I'm glad there's some space now. I'm still waiting to get the Forge catch can...still haven't heard any updates on the release yet. You getting the BSH? VTA or recirc.? And yes, that rubber piece took forever also for us to take out haha, such a pain. We should meet up sometime I wanna see your GTI haha

                            Re: My 09 GTI

I'm getting the VTA because it ventilates 100% of the blowby gas. The recirc can will capture about 80% from what I've been told. Also the VTA is apparently better proven for colder climates. I'm just committed to cleaning my engine bay of any film that is left from the can ventilation. I talked to another guy about his VTA, and he says it's not a big issue, and it only spreads within 1 foot of the can filter.

I'm going to the next Meet for Calgary, May 6 @ 8pm over at the Southport Moxies.

Well after reading what you just posted about the VTA, I may need to get a VTA instead of a recirc. now. Plus it's cheaper ahah. The smell people say turned me to the recirc but it shouldn't be to bad then. And like you say..it's for the engine so I appreciate the info! Might need to invest in one now instead of waiting for the recirc. BTW where would you dispose out all that waste?

haha I saw that vid before...maybe I may need to do a sound clip and let you be the judge of that. Although I don't find that sound clips sound as good as what it actually sounds like when it's in your face haha
