Do you happen to work in the Eau Claire area? I always see a passat that looks similar to yours parked kind of by Joeys at night. Car looks great and I'm liking the rims.
Yes... it is faster. I have a lowly chipped 1.8t. I do have 4motion, so that kinda rocks in the winter. At least that's what I keep telling myself so I don't get mad that it isn't a diesel with crazy torque.
I must say, torque is great. Coming back from Kelowna through Roger's Pass, I actually had to ask the wife if we were going up the mountain or down. I was going 140-150 up the mountain and there was still plenty of power for more........and $55 to fill in Calgary, drive to Kelowna, drive around a few days and drive back to Calgary with 160km still left in the tank doesn't hurt.........

now, back on topic.
I somewhat doubt you're getting over 1500+ km a tank.
(607km to Kelowna, 607km back to Calgary, 100 or so in Kelowna, and still having 160km)
Not sure if a passat would get 1500, but back when I had my 05 golf TDI, I made it to osoyoos (just over 700k) and my needle was pointing exactly at half. Oh and I wasnt going easy on the gas...

Yup,
607 + 607 + about 20 in kelowna + comp said 160 when pulled into garage = 1394.
Note: Comp will still estimate highway mileage for awhile once back in the city. That 160km is probably more like 100 actual km's but 1400km is very do-able on a PD TDi (Correct me if i'm wrong but I think Euro Dub PL's 05 Golf TDi wasn't a PD......PD's get better fuel economy, no?)
20km's in kelowna was used when taking the pictures, all other driving was done in my Dad's sweet ass minivan
