Just picked up an 83 GLi 2Dr Jetta!!!

So my buddy just picked up a 92 mint GTi and I convinced him to sell me his tired but super clean 83 GLi! New wheels and tires going on today with a fresh 8V being popped in to finish the summer with a 16v being rebuilt over winter. Lots of other stuff to do to make it minty fresh, but overall a super wicked platform to start with. I have been looking for 8 years for one of these and I finally got her! Now the fun begins... lol! I feel like such a proud Papa! Old school baby!!!







These are the rims going on today... 15x8 ET25 with 195/50R15's...

Nice choice, Bob! Always been a fan of mk1 jettas, esp' 2 doors.

Body looks to be in amazing shape, and a hot 16v would be sweet in that car.

Haha! These were here, cheap and fit so I was able to get the car rolling. I actually just ordered in some 175/55R15's to change them out with next week! Woo Hoo!!!

Not enough stretch IMO!! Great looking car though. Should look amazing once its closer to the ground!!

Dunno... I am thinking of coverting to Dual rounds, but would really like the euro rectangles. Sooo hard to find though...

Please don't do the dual rounds :( Just doesn't work on a Jetta IMO!!! Like you said, try finding the OEM Euro square jetta lights. Thise look amazing!!!

Any progress on the 16V swap?
