New Ride

Hey guys,

No pics yet, but just wanted to drop a line and say I'm now the proud (and possibly stupid) owner of a 1993 corrado VR6. Will definately get some pics up tonight. I love her. Aaaaall most as much as the MKV.

I was out in Kelowna recently and saw a beautiful mint condition pure white carrado G60 with its wing still up n downing like a goodn. fell in love with that car there n then looked amazing. nearly got out and made an offer lol

Yea I bought this off an older gent off of cvd. He was the second owner and the car was originally from Winterpeg. When I bought the car he gave me all of the service records, including the ORIGINAL bill of sale. $25k in 93. At a 2.65% infaltion rate that's like $37k now. More than the MKV GTI. No wonder they weren't the best sellers back then eh? Any ways, timing cahins were done, head, valve, intake, & oil pan gaskets have been done. alternator, clutch, slave cyl, ignition all done. This car was very well cared for. It has only like 2 tiny spots of rust, and a few dings and scratches. but nothing major. All in all SWEET deal. You could tell this was a VW family, son and wife both drove MKV rabbits, daughter drove MKIV golf, guy drove the corrado. He was glad it was going to a good home.

I know the original owner of that car, he practically gave it away, and it was in really good shape. If all it suffered was the horrible wheel application I guess that's not so bad.

I got the car up on the hoist last night and goodie, she needs some work. (surprise, good 'ol 'rado's) SO, here's the list so far:

- timing chain cover is leaking (chain has been replaced tho)
- oil cooler seal leaking
- (possibly) RPM sensor seal
- (possibly) oil pan gasket
- coolant bottle is leaking at seam
- RF outer tie rod end))
- coilovers w/strut mounts & bearings (this is for height issue)
- front wheel bearings
- front brake rotors
- rear trailing arm bushings (gross)

Above is the "major" there is, of course, a few minor things here and there, but all in all she's in pretty good shape. Will need new paint though, but that's a given.
