  • Le Mans Blue 135i

I'll post more pictures when the weather improves, and I'll be sure to bring it to the next meet. But here it is!

Its already kind of dirty, I could have waited till Saturday to take it home.... Well no, I couldn't wait till Saturday to take it home. But I between having to break it in and the cold, snowy weather we've been having here, it went from the BMW Calgary garage to my garage.

Anyways, initial thoughts, the power band feels incredibly linear, and the car very well balanced. Pulls hard in any gear, turns like its on rails, and its fantastic. There are plenty of reviews on the internet about it that provide far better descirptions than I ever could, so I'll leave the details to them.

          Thanks guys.

On the interior I would probably say its about on par with a Mk4 GTI. Exterior, somewhere around an E36 3-Series? Its a solid foot shorter than the current E9X 3 series, but has about the same height.

Anyways, yeah I'm 99% certain I'll be at the meet on the 1st! (I may be in Edmonton at the time)

looks very nice and a good ride height as well but oh, its so calling out for larger wheels to fill out those wells.

the steering wheel looks nice and fat! only thing i'd prolly change is the wood out for the aluminum or carbon if you can get it (yet or at all haha)

color looks amazing tho.. seats look very nice too..

hope to see this at a meet for sure

                      ps.. vishnu chip lol?

                        Thanks for the comments guys!

Yeah Ryan, the steering wheel is fabulous. And the wood is actually gray, for some reason it always photos as brown though. But there is carbon available OEM from BMW, which is always an option. Its a great car to sit in, you can all have a look at the meet.

As for chipping, I'm thinkin Dinan down the road :-) something like 380 hp and 420 ft/lbs for $2500. I have to get used to 300/300 still! Thats enough to do plenty of damage. The good part about Dinan too is that the BMW dealership is also the Dinan dealer and its all under warranty.

Yeah, Vishnu and Dinan both have pretty good programs for BMWs, but I still have a lot to learn for the BMW tuning. Still so used to VWs. I think once I get settled with the car I'll start doing some mods, but all OEM since BMW has a really good performance parts lineup now, its just a lot of $$$, which I'm short on now. But they've got intakes, exhaust, suspension pieces, brake upgrades, limited slip, aero parts, etc, plus the Dinan support.

Also, just a note to anyone interested, though the 135s are mostly pre-orders, they've got like 40 128 coupes and cabs at Calgary BMW. I drove the 128 on a small autocross course at the BMW Test Drive event on Sunday, they're pretty sweet.
