Well after looking for two months for a winter ride (wanted a Mk3 VW or early Audi) I only found disappointment. Every Mk3 in town seems to have weathered the years pretty poorly, and I want something reliable and so that means low mileage and no rust or body damage. Has to be Manual as well and I don't want to have to do work on it.
So as of tomorrow I've gone to the dark side, I found a deal on a 2003 Nissan Sentra as my winter ride :'( Honestly I don't want to, but it seems like finding an Audi or VW is impossible for now.
Going to roll Japanese style for a while but if a great car comes up, I'll pick it up on credit and sell the Sentra quick.
Its a great ride for the money, quick low km engine with lots of torque, practical, new body, lots of ground clearance and 4 doors with a big trunk and fold down seats.
Maybe Mk4 VW's will come down a bit more and I can get back into a Mk4 Golf soon. With the citi golfs out I thought prices would come down but strolling the used car lot at Northland, they still price 03's in the 20K range!
If anyone wants to buy my Sentra from me in a few months, you'll get a great deal on a reliable car.
