    *cough*cams*cough*

All VR6's should have 268 cams! I had them in mine and it was the best money I ever spent on that car.

I've never really thought about cams. Its there a big peak power increase, or is it just a better hp curve? I remember I looked ito them for my e30 when I had it, and it didn't seem worth it for that car. I will check it out though.

My new policy is never to do a mod unless it adds 10%+ hp

If I remember correctly from when I had my cams, peak increase with the appropiate software is around 15whp. Not huge but noticable. The power band gets much more broad and you make a lot more power up top however. I recall seeing several dynos with vr6s running cams and at 6500rpm there was something like a 25whp difference from stock, so the top end is much improved.

hmm, when I do the chains I will probably do that if thats the case. Lumpy idle at all?

Thats when I did mine. The idle stays smooth but if you have an exhaust or the suitcase muffler taken out, then you can definitely hear a bit of a burble in the idle through the exhaust.
