  • Modena, Italy - Ferrari Musem and others

So I'm going to be stopping by Modena in Italy probably around September 20th or so. I know that this is the city where most major italian car manufacturers are located (ferrari, bugatti, lambo, alfa romeo, maserati, etc) but am having some trouble locating information on how to see the factories or related museums. Has anyone been there before that can lend some advice?

The only thing I can really find online is a website on the Ferrari museum, but it has very little info, and doesn't mention cost or anything. I put in my email/info to book but never received a response.
    Anyone know anything about this?

you have to call and book a tour, because they don't really give tours. so if they think you're worthy i guess you get a tour.

You'll have a hard time finding a Bugatti factory in Italy.

As for the Ferrari museum, you don't need to book anything. My girlfriend's parents were there last year and you just go and check it out. There is also a cool Ferrari store attached to it. Not sure about the factory tours but I'll see if my girlfriend's parents know anything about it.

I would also try checking out Pagani if you can.

Sometimes English tours are harder to come be as well, I know in Wolfsburg they only did one a day so you needed to reserve to make sure you got a place.

thanks for the info. I finally got a reply after 4 days of waiting from the museum. they said they are booked on the day i wanted to go (sept 23) but they can fit me on the saturday the 22nd, which i think i'll be able to do. the cost is only 12 euros each, but a guided tour is 60 euros.
you can also spend like 130 euros or something and you get a grand tour and some buffet lunch afterwards or something. i might do that.
anyway - so thats the museum, but the factory would be a whole other level of wicked.

why is it so hard to find bugatti in italy? modena italy is where the main factory is.

My mistake, the Veyron is made at the factory in Dorlisheim, France, but you're right, the original one is outside Modena.

okay so i was looking at the wrong museum. one that's in San Marino and you need to book ahead of time.
i found out that you can go to the one thats at the ferrari factory, and you can show up whenever you want, during open hours. i'll also be going to the lamborghini museum.

Must have been awesome! But I assume it is true that you're not allowed to take photos?
