First, does anybody know the differences between the Hartmann and Velocity Motoring Brand Names?
Second, 18" or 19"?
Here is what Hartmann claims about their wheels:
- We are the only manufacturer in the market to carry 100% Italian made B7-RS4 replica wheels. Our wheel is also the only wheel in the market that will accept an OEM RS4 center cap.
- They make 2 versions that clear BBK's
Here is what Velocity Motoring claims about theirs:
- Clears ALL OEM brake calipers, including B5S4, B6S4, B7S4, B7A4 WITHOUT SPACERS REQUIRED.
- Compatible with FACTORY RS4 CENTERCAPS.
- BIG BRAKE KIT Clearance - Tested and CLEARS ALL BREMBO/STOPTECH Brakes.
- +38 Offset
- Increased wheel strength to reduce the potential of broken/bent wheels.
- Increased spoke concave angle instead of the "flat" look.
- Compatible with A6's as well.
- Comparable weight: Approx. 26 lbs each.
- Material/Manufacturing Method: Cast Aluminum Alloy
- Country of Manufacture: Taiwan (not china)
- Wheels are JWL/VIA Certified, Factory is ISO-9001:2000 Certified.
Now down to the nitty gritty...color! I have a dolphin grey B6 and am having a hard time deciding between hypersilver or gunmetal. Now, if i went with gunmetal I would order from Velocity since they sell that color, but if the quality of the Hartmann is much better then I would consider powdercoating.
As far as price goes, I would assume both are pretty even... I will email indpendenttuning.ca and get a quote from them on the Hartmann's and for the Velocity versions they are $749 USD or $799 USD + S/H for 18" and 19" respectivley. I think that by the time conversion and border fees adds in I am looking at ~1100-1200 so going with Hartmann would save me but not by much as their website has a list prices of $1040 (18") and $1140 (19").
I think my decision really is going to come down to quality and which color will look best. (I personally, like the improved style of the Velocity wheels and I'm leaning towards the gunmetal)

Any pics of hypersilver on a dolphin B6?
TIA!
