  • S4 Drivers: Insurance?

My friend was looking at a 2001 S4 but his insurance company (st farm) quoted him $2100/year with a clean (very clean) driving record and a $500 deductable.

That seems high to me, what do you S4 drivers pay??

I pay half that on my Jetta...

Depending on how old your friend is, I wouldn't say that price is that bad....it's only $175/month. I pay $145/month for the wife's insurance on the S4....and she's only 22

He's older than I am (late 20's), single, has house and motorcycle insurance, and as I said, clean record.

06 A4 2.0t, full coverage (due to financing), clean record, drivers training, driving for 7 years, class 3 license...

            548 per month ~ 6576 per year

21yrs old... I would much rather put 500 a month into a saving acct incase of an accident, than pay insurance money which I'll probably never see again.

I would rather save the money too but if I get into and accident and I get sued for 1.2M a few thousand in the account will not cut it.

When I was 19 and had my Talon I paid the same for almost no coverage, you are lucky they changed the rules in the last 10 years. But $548 per month does suck, I wonder if it would be cheaper if you were a girl?

how have you been driving for 7 years if you're only 21? I don't think the 2 years with a learner's license counts.
anyway, thats ridiculous. I have a '02 GTI with full coverage and it's about 200 bucks per month. AMA quoted me at 250, and my original insurer quoted me at about 280. So I would suggest looking around because you are getting raped. unless you have a really bad driving record.

i re-read his original post ... he said clean driving record! dude, i can give you the name of my insurer if you want. may as well try to get a better quote. you are getting sodomized.

p.s. especially in fort mcmurray... apparently you can get even cheaper rates if you live in a smaller city like that. i didnt qualify for the cheaper rates because my "primary residence" is in calgary... but if your primary is in fort mcmurray then you can get even cheaper rates!

548/month... you should be able to get a car AND insurance.

+ gas for a week or two.

I pay ~$170 with TD Meloche Monnex, 23 clean driving record and that was a big drop off from paying $310 with Link!

haha... Now i feel even worse. Tomorrow I shall shop around! Ya I have a clean record and only one ticket which was a couple years ago.

I would rather save the money too but if I get into and accident and I get sued for 1.2M a few thousand in the account will not cut it.
Am I wrong in the fact that PL/PD would cover that which is manditory? The part I'm paying out the ass for is what I would get to replace my car if I totalled it. Which is also manditory due to the fact that the dealership basically owns my car.

The fact of the matter is, is that I must have full coverage due to my finacing contract. Obviously PL/PD alone would be much less. On my previous car (97 Sunfire) I payed about 180 a month for PL/PD only, no collision.

If anyone knows where I might be able to get a sweet deal feel free to help a brother out.
