Or can I just do it the way most of the DIY's state?

As far as I know, SCFC cuts the keys....but I'm waiting to hear back from Volkstech so I know for sure. The keys are NOT laser cut though, so I assume you could take it almost anywhere.

Sorry to resurrect this thread from the dead, but I am curious to know if anyone found anything out.

I too have recently purchased and A4 and it only had one key. So I picked up an extra off e-bay, but I don't know where to get it cut in Calgary. Anyone know?
I tried a few locksmiths, like a-1 uptown downtown and they said they could not.

Is my only option the stealership?

I just replied to your PM Flash, and yes, the dealership (SCFC to be exact) is your only option. Even if you go to Audi, they'll tell you to go to SCFC. It's less than 10 bucks to get a blank cut.

Wow, thanks Smarty for the quick reply!

Edit: For those interested, As of Dec 15/06 it cost me 5 bucks and change at SCFC to have my new blank cut! While in Vancouver I was quoted $150.00 for a new flip key remote. The remote I bought, including the cut blank, I've paid about $65.00. DIY FTW!!....lol.
