Looks like it's just the one engine - 4.2 liter FSI V8

- 420 hp (0-60 in 4.6, top speed 301km/h)
- world first LED headlights! (available late 2007 onwards)

haha speaking of 8s.. glenmore had my car in for service yesterday and they had to keep it overnight to order a vac. hose and they gave me a 2000 A8 4.2 tip as a loaner!!! its pimp juice lol

Audi today announced its highly anticipated R8 sports car will feature a Bang & Olufsen audio system. "It is the finest sound system ever fitted to a sports car," says the managing director of Bang & Olufsen Automotive, Jens Peter Zinck. It has 12 speakers driven by 10 discrete channels of amplification and digital signal processing, producing a total amplifier power of 465 watts. It features:

* 1 x subwoofer – 130 mm in bass reflex cabinet
* 2 x front door woofer – 200 mm
* 1 x centre speaker – 35×70 mm
* 2 x front midrange speaker – 80 mm

Audi has announced pricing for the new R8 sports car. The mid-engine two-seater — which was unveiled on Wednesday at the Paris Motor Show — will sell for 104,400 euros with a standard manual transmission and 111,790 for the R-Tronic version. No other options exist in terms of performance or mechanical components. The carbon fiber "side blade" will 1,900 euros to the price tag. Upgrading to the stylish five-spoke wheels shown in the official photos will cost 1,540 euros. Carbon interior treatments will cost between 2,000 and 3,000 euros, depending on what the buyer select. Navigation is 2,270 euros, and Bang & Olufsen audio is 1,440.

Considering the Audi RS4 starts at 69,900 euros in Germany and $66,000 in America, we suspect there will be a similar relationship between the European and U.S. pricing for the R8. Accordingly, we suspect the six-speed version will cost $98,600 in America, while the R-Tronic variant will be $105,600.


Edit: Using Canadian rates that works out to 141,000 and 151,000, as compared with the RS4 hopefully they stop using such a high ratio for Canadian currency, as I think the car should be a little cheaper then that.

possible official commerical other than calling it the lemans.. but V10TT what what!!! according to peeps on audiworld the v10TT is coming next year in it as an option..
