Yeah that vid has been around for a while now, an older generation Smart with the almond shaped lights. The car did do well in the impact but really I would not want to be in that kind of crash with any car, you may end up with engine in your lap. The full version of the show does in fact show them doing the same crash with another euro compact car and it has some pretty hefty frame damage.
The forces on the human body going from that speed to zero instantly are the worst part of the accident regardless of what you are in.Blair

The thing about that video is it gives you a worst case senario, now imagine an everyday try accident and that should shut up all the people who say it is too small to be safe.Name: Brent

Yep, I came across this link when looking for something I saw on 60 minutes (I think that's where I saw it). It was several crash tests between a smart and a couple populare SUVs including a Ford Escape. The funny thing was that the injuries to the test dummies were far more sever in the SUV than the smart. I couldn't find what I was looking for but this link gets the point across that these cars are small, but still very safe.
