Yes the Polo is taking over. Check out this month's Perf VW magazine, there are tons of Polos, there is one they mention that has an engine swap from a TT!

There are a lot of rumors that this car will be coming our way, it is to be unveiled at the upcoming Tokyo Autoshow which hopefully is a sign the Polo is moving out of Europe and competing with small Japanese cars. The car has a 150hp 1.8T in it and could cost about 18,500 if it made it here, lets keep our fingers crossed!!

I could see it coming over. The Golf has become like the Civic in that it has become pretty darned big and has left a hole in the cheap sub-compact market.

I likey small cars.

Damn it Blair! You shouldn't have told me that. I really want a new Golf GTI... but IMO the Polo GTI better captures the Spirit of the original... and I think I would almost rather have the Polo GTI. BAH I hope they announce it for sure before The Golf GTIs get here.
