As far as that sticker goes:

Just because that car is not a MkIV doesn't automatically make them a CVD member. If he was CVD executive I'd be asking questions, but he isn't even a member.

Remember your club restricts to 99.5+. If you aren't liberal with your demographic, you'll have to be with your sense of humour.

Just for a heads-up, the next one to come down the pipe will likely be:

"Since the MkV's are out, NewVeeDub will have to change to NotSoNewVeeDub."

We dont restrict any cars here, we have had many different cars at meets and shows like Audi's, MK1, 2, 3, 4 and 5s. I do see some humor in the sticker but more if it said "Definitely Not A NewVeeDub" as opposed to "Definitely Not NewVeeDub" so I think it is hard not to take it as a shot against us.

ok so here goes. i was the guy that made the stickers. the guy with the red rabbit did not, he just thought it was as commical as i did and put one on his car. which by the way he has taken off now. yes the sticker was a reference to the fact that my car is not new. but i knew that using your old font would cause some members to think it was a personal attack.both kinda planned, and worked.

years ago i saw a show bus at the seattle show, on the rear bumper was a sticker that said "i beat up 4 hippies and all i got was this lousy bus" i laughed. it made me think that as a veedub owner we can easily have a chuckle at our selves as do most people at our funny looking cars. i feel that owning all the older veedubs that i have gained a sense of humour, dealing with the ridicule that i have endured.

i guess that with the drama that my sticker has caused, not many new volkswagen drivers have developed the same thick skin as i have to this kind of ridicule. for this i appoligize.

i do not know if i will take off the sticker yet as i feel that would be like giving up my right to original thought. althought with out free thought dr Porsche may have not started the company we all love over 50 years ago. but then again that would have saved me some typing.

maybe i should go and join those hoodride guys and just enjoy my car with out all the politics.

Honestly if it had the "a" in there I would have laughed my butt off but it didn't and it also used the old font like oyu said so it was a little hard to take it as anyhting other then a shot to the balls. Of course VW owners have tough skin these days, every hillbilly and his uncle/father like to point out where VW sits on the vehicle quality lists when they have no idea when they are talking about.

Thanks for coming on the boards and explaining the background of the sticker. We are just trying to ensure there is no big hate towards us, but I do think the hippy sticker is funnier
