  • my car gutted

took the car to the bodyshop to get the interior gutted and cleaned from the flood damage. everything checks out fine and everything stock goes back in, not enough damage to replace anything :( . I looked at the bodyshop pricing program to see how much new seats were, the complete setup was near $2000 each for each front seat because they're heated and have airbags. YIKES.

the hood is open in these pics and sorry for the crap quality.

And make sure they clean every single cotton picking electrical connector as the interior ones are not sealed. If you don't you will have all types of electrical problems in the future. I repair water damages electronics from mines all the time and I can tell you it will cost you tons to hunt down a intermittant fault connection in the future.

they take everything out, wash it, and put it back.

and yah i know what you mean brent, it could pose alot of problems but the shop manager was going over everythign with me there today and makign sure the guy doing the job was covering absolutely every crack and checking every wire

and good idea on the dynamat. thats pretty expensive stuff isnt it?

There is some company out your way that sell huge rolls (100') on ebay all the time. I think Ryan or someone else was going to buy some at one time. Brand name dynamat is really expensive and not worth the cost.

i went and hung out with my stereo guy tonight and got his opinion on it, and he says dynamat is definately better than brown bread, and its not much more $. he said just the ease of installation is worth it, it sticks so much better and is thicker.

we're gonna do it up when we install my alarm/starter this fall
