So is it poisonous? ..... and also, is it impervious to hairspray or kerosene?

As for the giant water bugs in Calgary, I think I've seen those too. I was in the parking lot of Superstore and it came falling out of one of the parking lot lamp posts

All spiders are poisonous to a degree, but few are harmful to humans. I dont know about the hairspray or kerosene, but they would likely kill it. Or are you just looking to style its hair & turn it into a lamp?

I prefer a swift whack with heel of my shoe. I would not kill it though, since it will be eating a number of other insects, plus they are pretty cool to watch. The complexity of their webs is amazing.

As for the giant water bugs, they are often attracted to lights in the summer as their wetland habitat dries up, and they take flight looking for other suitable places to live.

Awww you should pretend its a rare spider, and sell it. But that would involve you catching it.

We dont have any that are that large here in calgary.

As for imported bugs, I see that quite often, I currently have 2 black widows I am keping that were brought in on some grapes. I have also been given a large wolf spider, a scorpion, a arfrican locust and a bunch of others that escape me right now.

They are in my office & lab, along with a hundred or so hissing cockroaches (like the ones they eat on Fear Factor), a tarantula. Sadly the 11 inch millipede just passed away. RIP Rocket.

There should not be too many infestations in Mckenzie towne.
