  • It has begun... interior in a can

Well, went to 2 fabric stores, and they have nothing. Wal-Mart had nothing, so I went to Canadian tire and the only thing they had was some flat-black all purpose acrylic paint. So I bought it and gave it a whirl.

Here's part 1 of interior in a can! Soon the entire headliner/pillars will be black too. It came out pretty well, did 5 thin coats on it. Sorta crusty though, so I wanna wait till I get dedicated fabric paint.

First, here's a pic of the G-Flo since its been so long since everyone saw it.

    And we begin.

I am quite interested to see how that works out on the plastic parts as I am not willing to spend the amount of money it will cost to get a headliner/pillars/seatbelt loops from a GLI

I will shell out the cash for the rearview, and sunroof console but that's about it

Looks pretty good, I worry about whether or not the coat will be even over a large surface such as the headliner.

Looks good, but I definitely think results will be best with a fabric dye or spray. You should be able to order it at a craft/hobby/art supplies store. Fabric stores only really have fabric.

I know, and he didnt leave it grey on purpose. He's waiting for OEM black parts to come in.

Saw it on the vortex aswell, surprised there was no residual smell......If you really kept track, in the end he bought the headliner and interior bits out of a wrecked 20th, replaced all his painted parts, so who knows how it turned out......Good show of balls!
