Other than the sound i've heard good things about the engine. What have you been hearing?
It's definitely not a V8 but we all know those are unfortunately a dying breed.

sound sucks, redline sucks, 6500rpm? diesels almost rev that high lol and its the base engine in the panamera? so putting it in RS car while its base in another model is shameful
also there is no dsg anymore, reviews show it doing launch control but its not launch control, its just a brake stand
i recently drove the new c63 for a week, and except the interior i like the fact benz has the balls to put a v8 biturbo still into a car the size of the A4

Well to be honest, the base Panamera uses a 330hp single turbo 3.0 V6. The 4S, which is the model just below the Turbo, uses the 2.9 twin turbo and it starts at $117k. I would venture to say Audi is in very good company sharing an engine with the 4S.
Too bad the red line sucks but the turbo's really aren't doing much at 8000 RPM so it makes sense. Having torque at low RPM's is probably more suitable to most driving styles compared to letting the engine scream at red line. Having grown up driving Mk1 VW's I definitely prefer the latter.

Looks good in green! Don’t mind the V6 thing. I’m sure that’s a sign of things to come in the next rs6 anyway, and hopefully it’ll help them sharpen their pencils, especially with a North American debut.
