Spark plug blown out audi s4 1994

Hi Guy's

I have a question: how you ever come across this issue - blown spark plug from alloy head ?
In my case thread is totally gone.
Is there a way to fix this without taking head off ?
I did find some tools that do this without taking head off - any experience ?

I have seen it before but mostly on Fords.

Easist way to fix over the fender is with a time-sert

^^ this is correct. i've had some good luck with heli coils in cylinder heads. not saying that it's easy but if you go that route, i can offer you some tips. pack the tap with grease. all the shavings will stick to it and not fall into the cylinder. go slowly and make sure it's straight. you'd probably want to remove the tap a couple time throughout the process to clean out the tap and repack with new grease, to help keep the shavings to a minimum. same goes for the heli coil tool. stick a dab of grease on the end so the little tab can stick to it, follow their instructions properly so you don't cause worse headaches. vacuum out the cylinder, if you can.

Blown out spark plugs on a urs is a common thing. Most if not all urs guys check and torque plugs every couple weeks or so.

We did Heli-coil/timesert on a Lexus SUV a few weeks ago at the shop. Not difficult to do but very time consuming.
