The price in Canada isn't going to be based off of fx, I'd assume. Best way to accurately guess would be price difference between m235i and m2 in the us. If you use that math, cam is pretty close to bang on.

I wish BMW would come up with a new wheel design for the M cars, that wheel design has been around since the last generation M6. The car looks awesome though, I would expect the HP to be closer to 400 once some dyno numbers come out, BMW tends to underrate power numbers.

            Official details now:

BMW has officially unveiled the 2016 M2 Coupe following a leak earlier today.

Set to go on sale in the United States in the spring of 2016, the 1-Series M Coupe successor has an aggressive front bumper which isn't particularly attractive but helps to reduce lift. Besides the new front bumper, the M2 features a revised grille, front fender vents and widened wheel arches. The car also has a new rear bumper and a diffuser which is flanked by a four-tailpipe sports exhaust system. Rounding out the changes are a minimalist rear spoiler and 19-inch forged aluminum wheels with bespoke Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.

The interior largely carries over but the model features Dakota leather sport seats with blue contrast stitching and M logos on the backrests. There's also an M-branded footrest, a leather-wrapped sport steering wheel and knee pads on the center console. Other highlights include M-branded sill plates and carbon fiber trim.

A 3.0-liter M TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder engine resides under the hood and produces 365 bhp (268 kW) and 343 lb-ft (464 Nm) of torque - 369 lb-ft (499 Nm) with overboost. When connected to the standard six-speed manual transmission, the M2 will accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds before hitting an electronically-limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). Customers who order the optional seven-speed M Double Clutch Transmission might miss changing gears for themselves but they'll be rewarded with a 0-60 mph time of just 4.2 seconds.

Speaking of performance, the M2 features aluminum suspension components and aluminum front and rear axles sourced from the M3 / M4. The model also has an M-tuned electronic power steering system, an Active M Differential and a high-performance braking system with vented and perforated discs as well as four- and two-piston calipers which have a blue metallic finish.

I'm with you Derek. BMW seems to really be boring me with their new models. I know the potential is there, but its just not exciting. I mean, even a North American Focus ST comes with nice Recaro bucket seats. These seats may have an ///M stitched into them, but you look like you would slide off in the first heavy corner.

I am quite taken by the exterior but I do agree I think the interior is lacking and yes the seats look like they are from a 218i.

Re: New BMW M2 next week?

Personally, I love it, its aggressive looking exterior is hot! The interior is meh, I agree the seats could be better but for it being an entry level M car, they'll work. I've driven the M235i with the same seats and they held great. As far as the size of it goes, its pretty much perfect, the M3 and M4 have gotten biggg over the years. The lower profile, longer and wider wheel base compared to the 1M has helped it not look like such a.. bubble. The one thing I can't wrap my head around is why they wouldn't give it the signature "M" mirrors that all the others have. Sad haha

I'll agree with most of the points here, especially that the M3/4 are WAY too big these days. I'll have to reserve full judgement until I see one in person. Right now its Meh, but i'm sure it will grow on me like most of the other new BMW's. Will I absolutely love it, probably not. But I will most likely admit that it is a very nice car

Like the exterior. Kinda meh on the interior (and agree that the seats need to be more deeply bolstered!) Overall though a pretty cool looking car!

I like it so much more that the m4. Way more aggressive body styling. And those wide fenders OOO La La. This will look way better in person.

The interior is almost exactly the same as what I have in my 228i M-sport. The seats are even the same other than the M logo under the headrest and the stitching. I can say the seats are excellent and the bolsters are adjustable so they do hold you in well. BMW does have a Recaro bucket for the two series in Europe, so that may become an option. I am a huge fan of the exterior other than the wheels, I hate those wheels.
