BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage Concept

BMW has released the first teaser image of the 3.0 CSL Hommage concept that will be fully revealed on May 22 at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.

The vehicle is being described as a “design tribute” to the “timeless classic and iconic” BMW 3.0 CSL. The German company explains the study will feature powerful wheel arches and a prominent roof and rear spoiler, while we also see irregularly shaped LED taillights on the teaser image.

BMW also says all the elements in the cabin are “absolutely essential” and the Hommage displays “technical supremacy and formal sophistication”.

BMW has unveiled the new 3.0 CSL Hommage concept at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.

Designed to pay tribute to the iconic 3.0 CSL, the concept has an aggressive front fascia with a "modern interpretation of the earlier car’s highly distinctive shark nose." The model also a carbon fiber front splitter and a prominent twin kidney grille that is flanked by slender laser light LED headlights. Moving further back, we can see muscular fenders, carbon fiber side skirts and small rearview cameras that act as mirrors. The model also has roof and tail spoilers, LED taillights, a CFRP diffuser and 21-inch alloy wheels.

Moving on to the interior, there's two lightweight sport seats with contrast stitching and six-point harnesses. The cabin also features a minimalist instrument cluster, a unique steering wheel and alloy pedals. Other highlights include a carbon fiber roll cage and an integrated fire extinguishing system.

BMW declined to release performance specifications but confirmed the concept has a "powerful" six-cylinder in-line engine with eBoost technology.
