2004 Audi s4 problems

Hey,

I just picked up a 2004 Audi s4. As I was driving it back, I had to put in 2 lt of oil. After I put in one liter I would start the car up and a ton of smoke would just come out the exhaust. I was wondering if anyone would know why its burning that much oil?!?!

2ed problem - Drove the car 2.5 hrs home and it was fine, I get around the corner from my house my revs start fluttering... I'm 100% lost on even where to start to resolve these 2 problems.

Any help would be AMAZING!!

did you have any timing chain rattle before any of this?

Sounds to me the engine is pooched

Yeah sounds like your cylinders are scored. Typical issue on those V8's. Unfortunately there is no way of fixing this as you cannot bore out the cylinders due to the metal used.

Did you have a compression/leakdown test done on the car prior to purchasing?

check engine light is not on... I didn't know about any of these test prior to purchasing. Any ideas on what I can do?

unfortunately there is not much to do outside of looking for a new short block, your heads can be reused if you would like.

You can pick one up at a decent deal if you can get it shipped reasonably or for free and are willing to drive down to the border to get it.

Common with the V8's that the cylinder walls peel, they have a coating on them. The only option is a new bottom end or a sleeved bottom end. A used one is an option as well, but who's to say it wont do the same thing in a year?

Thanks alot for all the help guys!! I dropped it off at glenmore audi. It drove fine on my way over there as long as I stayed under 2000 rpm.
