    Hey guys,

Curious about the 034Motorsport pieces, I'm thinking about doing a refresh and would like some opinions on the products. Wondering if I should stick with OEM parts, or just straight up go aftermarket. Looking at engine, torque (snub), transmission, strut mounts, and the solid subframe bushing kits. I'd like to tighten things up as I have a suspicion that the original mounts are starting to get gnarly.

    Thanks!

As an OEM guy, I always recommend sticking with factory stuff.

As a guy who enjoys modifying his vehicle I think 034 has arguably the best stuff I have put on my cars. I have done 3 projects with them and have yet to have an issue with anything they have supplied. I recommend them to anyone asking. I have installed most of their B5 S4 listings, from mounts to machined components, exhausts and their hoses. Everything fits.

    Hope that helps,

Engine & Trans mounts are a really nice upgrade. Snub mount can make it a little shaky (on 1.8t/V6, V8 may be fine since they run smooth), if you don't mind a little vibration then I'd do them all. Street Density to keep it livable. I'd do the rear diff mounts but don't really see a huge gain in the solid subframe kit. Strut mount kit, can't say. Control arm kits are awesome if you have firmer suspension in the car already, locks it down nicely.

        Hey Petoria,

Let me know what you are planning on going with as I have been thinking about the diff mount and trans mount. Maybe we can save on shipping!

Perfect, thanks for the input gents.

Derek, I'll let you know what's up, have to give Colin a shout that's for sure.

Cool let me know! Did you notice much of a difference with the Apikol diff mount?

              Re: 034 B7 V8 Products

I love 034 for what they have done for the industry, and what they represent.

However, they have taken a documented nosedive in quality and service over the last few years.

For instance, my street density engine mounts broke at the welds after less than 7500 km. Because they were purchased over a year prior, no refund/warranty.

Same thing for the strut top mounts. They separated at the bearing and according to 034, I'm SOL.

So IMO, your best bet is to find if Stern (or maybe Jared @ Hersh Performance Racing) makes mounts for your car.

Otherwise, I'd go with OEM for now. Unless this is a track car, in which case 034's track density/solid mounts ought to have no issues.

              Hope this helps

              EDIT:

I bet APR makes a decent snub if you're looking for an 034 alternative. Although 034's would be fine. I'd just avoid their motor/trans and strut top mounts in street density.

I'm buying some new mounts soon too(although for B5). Prob just go Stern because no one ever complains about those. 034 seems to have had some bad batches over the years.

Just an update for here, we have a pair of 034 Engine mounts in stock for RS4/Audi V8's with the resistors for the active mounts. We have another pair on the way as well. We keep the Trans mounts in stock.

                    Perfect! That's good to know!

Derek, the Apikol mount is a pretty good buy, especially when the mileage starts to rack up. The mounts refresh is preventative maintenance for me since the car is just so much fun to drive. I'm sure having a locked down drivetrain with new mounts would be night and day.
