How To: Replace Rear Brake Line on B5 Audi Quattro

Hey!

Does anyone know how to replace a brake line on a 1998 Audi a4? And roughly how long it will take?

Should be a fairly straight forward process similar to other vehicles i have done.
- Jack car up
- Remove wheel
- Undo both sides of line
- Replace line
- Bleed that rear corner thoroughly
- Put wheel back on

I would say if you had a power bleeder it would be an hour and a half job or so. Manual bleeding would require a second person and probably an extra half hour for the bleeding process if you need to redo it a few times because you sucked air back into the caliper

Have someone to pump the pedal 7/8ths of the way down at a steady pace until you see a steady stream of fluid with no bubbles coming out of the line.

Keep an eye on the fluid reservoir to ensure you don't run dry and thus add air into the entire system.
