  • New to the forum, some pics of my M3

Hello to you all, I'm new so I thought I'd post up my E36. It has a S50B32 euro motor(not to be confused with the motor that came in the US e36 m3) I swapped in a bit more than a year ago. Will be taking it on the cruise to Radium.

want to start getting the bodywork sorted the monday after the cruise to radium I also think
I might redo the frenched highs as they are a bit too dark imo

here's the heart of it all,

and one I thought I'd sneak in with my dad's Z4

A history lesson for you guys
1994-1995 in europe BMW made the s50b30 at the same time the states got
what they called the s50b30 which was completely different to the euro motor basically the
states got a bored and stroked 328 motor rebadged with M power on the engine cover
the US motor was quoted at 240 hrs. and 225 ft/ib the euro had 6 ITB and a completely different cast block and head and revved to 7800 iirc and made 286hrs. and
in 1994 canada got 45 specially badged european s50b30 cars.
        1996 saw the s50b32
the us motor was essentially the same as before but with different intake and OBD2
the euro was dual vanos and ITB made 321 hrs. and revved to nearly 8k aswell

Seriously, the engines are more different than they are the same, Many options never made it to the US shores that some euro cars had such as sprayers for headlights, headlight adjustment, rear window motorization, rear fogs, all sorts of different trim(s), spring rates, shock settings, 6 speeds, diff size on the 3.2's(210mm), floating rotors for the front.... I don't think its possible to easily come up with all the differences
Also in 1997 was BMW's very first year of SMG on any of they're cars and it came on the M3 (euro)

My car is a 1995 originally and I have swapped in the euro 3.2
        sorry for the long writeup

        Terry

            quite fast though
