  • V10 swap?

Well, I have been day dreaming alot lately. The main vision I have is dropping the Audi V10 into an old truck. I have been a fan of classic trucks for years and always wanted one as a summer fun vehicle. Of course I also have a love of euros and was trying to think if it would be possible to swap a cool euro engine into an old truck. I would say 99% of people throw an American V8 into their classics and call it a day, but I was thinking If I was ever to do this I would want a cool euro engine. I have no idea what work would be needed to put the 5.2 V10 in there but I think it would make the truck very unique and I don't mind pissing a few people off in the process haha.

Im thinking the best way to find one of these engines is from an S6 (does audi do crate motors???), http://www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks/c...ationFlag=true

Anyone know about these engines, how much work they need, chains etc?

Anyone seen any V10 swap projects?

The original inspiration, viper v10 engine in an old '52

Until the time comes the day dreaming will continue...

What kind of budget do you have? Fab skills? Electrical skills?

This can be done two ways, you send it out to a shop an spend $$$$$$, or do it all yourself and spend $$$$. Either route wont be cheap

                Re: V10 swap?

there is a reason this has not been done, it is not worth the time or money involved for the swap. Unless you got the engine given to you and have mad fabrication skills you will always be better going with a domestic engine that is supported by the after market such as a ls6 or ford modular swap. I understand the cool factor from it being a euro engine but with all the hurdles to make the engine and transmission work is not worth the headache for the ability to say you used a euro engine in an old truck.
