  • B7 A4 Exhaust Coupler Rusted

Hey guys. Im in the process of putting in my Test Pipe. Everything was going pretty well until I got to the exhaust coupler..
Both nuts were rusted on there, I tried putting WD40 on it a few times, And I still ended up stripping the nuts. Any suggestions on how to break them off?

Get an angle grinder out and cut the nuts off.

WD40 is not a rust breaker... Penetroil or PB Blaster will work. Too late now, though.

For the future, PB blaster, if not, the next best thing ive found is Seafoam Deep Creep. Still nothing compared to PB blaster though.

I was actually able to get it off with a bolt/nut remover thing. It cork screws into the nut and unscrews it like that. Even for ones that were stripped. I was impressed...
Other than that. Test pipe is in. I must say I was not expecting it to be that noticeable in sound.... I was wrong

It took my MK3 about a day for it to realize the post cat O2 sensor was gone.
