  • B6 A4 FTG measurement?

Anyone else have a stock(-ish) S-Line Avant that they can check FTG measurements? I'm not positive, but my wife's avant seems to be sitting lower in the rear then in a pic I have of when we first got the car. I'm wondering if a couple heavily loaded road trips over-compressed one. One fender is definitely lower than the other from right rear to left rear.

I may be of no use to you here because I'm pretty low with my b6 avant, but what are yours as it sits now?

It's quite possible that the overload, aswell as the age has just taken its toll. I see broken springs quite frequently where I work. Post your fender to ground, and if at all possible do a thorough visual inspection of the spring looking for any missing coils/ breaks

i have a set of s line springs from a 06 sedan done about 50k free if you figure you need some new springs.(if they'll work on the wagon)

        64.5 right rear
        65.5 left rear
        69 left front
        69 right front
Not on totally level ground though. I will remeasure when I can fit it in the garage. I'm also not sure how much air I have in the bags. Will deflate when I measure again. My friend with the v6 same generation has very close measurements to mine, so it might be ok. Funny thing is his front measures same as the rear. Maybe due to the heavier engine and same springs?

What bags are you speaking of? The fender arches are cut slightly lower in the rear, however that's a fairly significant rake towards the back. Remeasure on level ground but Please take a look at your springs/struts because that seems excessive to me.

I would expect the rear to measure the same or slightly MORE (than front) on stock suspension. And the same or slightly LESS on sline suspension. Speaking roughly 1/2inch.

Check for broken coils, sweating/leaking shocks, and visual inspect all the bushings on the control arms for tears or seperation.

I put airlift bags inside the rear coils last year, but not until after a road trip with a heavily loaded car.
