I was at Eurospec Plus today having my 335 PPI'd, when I noticed a absolutely beautiful red E30 325i coupe. Out of curiosity I asked Derek if it was for sale, and to my delight it is! Cosmetically, the car is near mint for it's age, there is a bit of clear peel on the hood, and a tiny rust spec by the rear spoiler, but nothing else, no perforation and no evidence of paintwork. Motorwise the head gasket was just done, and the TB has 20,000km on it (car is at 225,000km), it is very clean under the hood and it runs quite well (no weird sounds, exhaust leaks, etc). Being that a shop owner is actually selling it (well, it's his shop accountants), I feel quite comfortable (and he would likely throw in an inspection for my insurance). Is there anything else I should be looking at/for in a car like this? I am an E46/E90 guy, these are fairly unfamiliar to me.
I am not positive if I will be buying it, but I have always wanted to build a red E30 budget cruiser, and the price is quite satisfying!
