Pros vs Cons of Rs4

Hey everyone,

I am considering buying a 2007 RS4, and would like to hear what other people have to say why or why not they would buy one. I am hoping i can pull the trigger on it within a couple weeks.

No cons, all pros!!!!! Ha Ha!!! All kidding aside, the car is an absolute blast. The car was introduced in 2006 (in Europe) so its already 8 years old. There are probably many cars that are faster, more efficient and more capable but none that have the same presence (IMO). So far my car has been great mechanically. I bought mine 100% stock so I have certainly spent a fair share of cash on the car replacing suspension (because I wanted to not because I had to), exhaust and other things to modify it. I had some issues with injectors and of course did a carbon clean but other than that have basically just enjoyed the hell out of it. The car could be very expensive to fix should something happen however they are pretty stout! As most of you know, I usually don't hold onto vehicles very long however there is nothing I would sell this car for at this point!

Glad to know! Kind of expecting higher price fixes but if its worth it in the end, who cares lol

You can sleep in a car, you cant race a house.

The newer ones are better for the timing chains from what I've heard, there were revisions made to the systems, I'm sure Derek knows about that.

From all my reading on Audizine and rs246.com, I have yet to read a post about chain rattle and chain guide issues on RS4's.

Thats good to hear! If you were to do it again would you buy say an S4 and put more money into it or stay with your RS4?

The RS4 is worth putting the money into, S4 not so much IMO.

The value of the rs4 seems to hold at 35k-45k I'm sure it will continue to slowly drop but not as much as a s4. I'd say go for it the rarity of it is awsome, just expect to spend 2-3k every year on maintance items like brakes, clutch, tires and carbon cleaning.

For you guys that do have a RS4 ever consider to run a meth injection to help with the carbon?

Especially when a clutch and flywheel is like $1500 lol
