  • Anyone heading down to the u s of a?

Ugh. Ordering wheels is annoying with shady and poorly managed companies. Trying to order a set but they don't have 18x9.5 all around only staggered with 18x8.5. But they said to send them my credit card numbers with a confirmation of my address through email I assume. Wtf. Is this a normal practice? So I told them that was shady and if they had a paypal or something. He said they do and didn't even provide any help as to what the email of it or a link to it was. So for them to order a set of wheels they would need a deposit. Again, no numbers even given just a "deposit" of unknown value. Should I paypal them a dollar as my deposit for them until they have them? Lmao. And these guys are a Canadian distributor. Wtf. Damn Canadia sucks trying to get wheels here.
Anyone heading down to the states that could pick me up some wheels?

Sounds like you should just avoid them all together.

I know I "SHOULD", but ESM suggested I go with them as their canadian retailer (Not mentioning names yet), and they have the lowest price thus far. Anything coming from the states would be like 150+ More without duties..

The company in question is Z-Racing from Ontario. Anyone ever heard anything of them? The guys cant even spell the word "you"... =/ Really poor company IMO. But ESM somehow still suggests them for Canadian customers. . .

I ordered my wheels directly from esmwheels.com and had them shipped to sweetgrass montana. They quite often have 15% or 25% off deals, and the shipping to montana is cheap. Then just drive down to the border and pick them up. Would probably be a much lesser hassle than dealing with said company.

For sure. That was my next idea! I COULD possibly have them shipped to my dads friends cabin down there and pick them up. It MIGHT save me some money.. And get a cool road trip while im at it.
Actually. They have a 15% off with VWVortex atm. So I THINK it would work out to the same price shipped through them. How much duties would I have to pay? 6% of cost without shipping? If anyone can help it would be appreciated!

                  ~UPDATE~
So the manager from Z-Racing (Chris) actually reached out and contacted me himself and he seems pretty respectful with the situation. He agree's that he professionalism wasn't there with the employee that I was dealing with. He offered multiple other payment methods (PayPal, Ebay listing, over the phone, etc), so it was not sketchy. Seems like he is interested in keeping his online presence positive as they do a lot of it online.
THIS, and they are offering a cheaper price than through ESM and picking them up at the border (damn exchange rate)!
                  So.. +1 to Chris.
