E21 320i No Fuel

    E21 320i No Fuel

    I purchased a E21 BMW with the 1.8L CIS injected M10 engine and the engine cranks but doesn't start.
    The car has an in tank pump which sends fuel to the brand new external inline pump.
    All the leaks has been repaired, the car still wouldn't start even bypassing the fuel relay, fuses are good too.
    The car starts on starter fluid and isn't getting fuel pressure so I'm sure it's a fuel system issue.
    Anyone have experience with E21 BMWs, or dual fuel pump systems?

    Have you checked for clogged fuel filters? It could also be the in tank pump.

      when you bypass the pump can you hear the pumps running?

        The fuel filter is fairly new, I don't hear the in tank pump priming, but I don't hear the external one either.

          I would jump the fuel pump. Make sure you have power at fuse. Next check power at fuel pumps, if there is no power then you have some tracing to do. If there is power check the grounds and clean

            Call me retarded or anything you want... There was no fuse for the fuel pump... Installed a new fuse and started up like a champ!
