Re: 2.0T GIAC vs APR Tuning

I have been doing a lot of research into a chip for my 2.0t B7 A4. I know a few people with the Unitronic chip and they love it, after a lot of research, that's the way I'm leaning. As an added bonus, they're a Canadian company and have dealers in Calgary, Red Deer and Edmonton. Definitely check them out as an option!

Really the consensus with nearly any VAG platform, across all the boards, seems to be that if you go with the OTS tune offered by the dealer nearest you with the best service you can't go wrong.

If you want the best results, can't beat a custom tune.

I have had GIAC for a year and a half from Tunerworks, no complaints. No problems with dealer service after modding either (thanks Erik!); just one vacuum line (aftermarket to the upgraded diverter valve) that was not clipped back in place after having the timing belt done.

I had Unitronic in my 2.Slow Jetta before, installed by Das Auto in Red Deer. The programmer generated the program that day (a Saturday) because they didn't have a file ready for my engine. That's service!
