    Re: Audi a4 B5 2.8l 30 v Coil conversion to 2.0 tfsi

It seems that 034 sent me some faulty coil packs, When I switched back to the old oem ignition coil, the car ran back up no problem , no cel, no misfire, but with the 034's harness and 2.0tfsi coils, i got a misfire in cylinder 3, and 5. I'm still not for certain, you guys know a way to find out for sure if they are fualty?

Are your spark plugs gapped properly? You can always swap the coils between cylinders and see if any come up again as problem cylinders or if the problem travels with the coil. But 100% first thing to do is check the gaps, especially when changing coils

the nice thing about the conversion is that you can run a larger gap, considering the car runs fine with the oem packs I don't think the gap would be the problem, if the plugs where changed when you did the conversion i would start off by swapping around some coils and see if the problem remains on the same cylinder, if not maybe get some new plugs and throw them in.

If the gap is too small you will run into stuttering problems in the higher rev range usually. I had to up my gap from 28 to 40 and the idle smoothed out and works great in the higher rev range.
