Re: allroad airbags - merry xmas lol

so i pulled the old airbag off the top hat tonight and shock body so i could clean the shock up and get it ready for the weekend..

the arnott hairsprings at the top have bumpstops built in i found as the one i pulled the bumpstop was jiggling around all loose now..

pretty easy to work on at least so no complaints here

        help!

the system won't pressure back up for some reason.. i reinstalled everything this morning and lowered the car down but kept the weight on a jack and it the system won't pressure it seems.. i'm scared if i lower it all the way down it may damage the new airbag?

        wtf?

Could it have killed the compressor from the leak? Can you hear it running?

Re: allroad airbags - merry xmas lol

well i know what the issue is.. fucking arnott has some issues here

so the top hat of the suspension bolts down to the airbag and there are 6 bolts.. anyways so one of the bolts that screws into the airbag the inserted nut part on the airbag is weak and it pulled out of the airbag body so it won't hold air..

**** me.. now i have to call arnott to RMA this one.. i followed all the oem tq specs so not sure how it happened but **** now another few days without a car again.. ugh

ok got a new bag tonight... install properly lube orings and the fucking thing leaks on the bottom! could it be the shock body?? it had some rusty bits on it when i removed the old one so i wonder if its not making a proper seal? i did clean it up and paint over it but didn't sand it down or anything just scraped at it and painted on top of the rust bit..

                    wtf?

ok looked at it again tonight. its definitely the strut my guess is.. it has a bit of rust climbing up to where the oring was so i had to take it all apart again! then used my mouse sander to clean up all the rust, etc and cleaned it up and just painted it with rustoleom but need to give a few coats and wait of course.. probably won't be able to get to it until friday/saturday now but if not bilsteins are on order asap.

                        take that allroad!

fixed it up this morning.. had a busy end week so no time but i cleaned up the strut body and sanded it down and repainted it

anyways put it all back together sadly had to rescrew the airline into the bag but it didn't leak so thats good

as soon as i turned the key on the bag filled up instantly

glad its back on the road now
