Are you just getting this straight off the DIS, or actually calculating observed mileage using the amount of litres you pump to refill and the trip odometer reading?
I am getting that from the DIS and the from the trip odometer reset between fill ups. Look at my response to Jonathan, from the reading on the gauge, I have run 320km to that point. I have suspected that my gas mileage has been drastically better over the last two tanks. And I have even mentioned it to Ryan and others here on the forum. I was just today that I checked the DIS to see what i have been averaging.

I've managed to get my GTI down to 4.9L/100km once when it was stock. At stage 2, I typically see about 8.5 city, 6.5 highway. My 4Runner is more like 12.5 city, and I have no idea what the E30 does since the odometer was broken most of the summer haha.

I've been operating under the impression that once the fuel injectors are upgraded beyond a small range (~ 10-15%) from stock that the DIS can't be recalibrated to accurately assess consumption... am I inaccurate, or can/does Ryan diddle that setting too when he's tuning?

Lol at the guys comparing their mileage on Jettas and Golfs. I am jealous though. Haha.

I average ~12L/100km bootin around town.

Who is this tuner you speak of? I believe the current tune on my car is QUITE rich. Never logged anything though. Maybe I should start hunting for leaks.

haha I was referencing my old Gti because I miss the 8 or so I would get in the city.

Surprising now how much a little A3 can suck back... But it does sound glorious so its worth it.

I have the run the ev14 550 with a 4bar fpr. I don't expect to keep this kind of mileage once the hardware issues are sorted and a final tune is dialed in. Two Years ago I would have gone with EPL but they only work with their own hardware and i like to fabricate my own. I have never been happy with the original stage 3 tune but I also keep changing hardware. It is fantastic having someone who is so knowledgeable with the platform tuning capabilities. Most likely i will be going with billet rs6 turbos and an hpx style maf so no real sense in trying to dial in this tune other than if Ryan feels something could be causing damage. Your car is so smooth and powerful why would you want to change that?

I have never heard of recalibrating the DIS and because of where it gets its data I cant see how it would be needed. This is not an issue with the DIS under reading the fuel consumption, what I am getting is also measured on the OD and at the pump. This great mileage is purely due to not having hardware dialed in before the tune is tweaked. If a car is tuned when there is an issue with un-metered air entering the system and you later fix the issue then you will cause other issues with the tune. The series of events, hardware changes, tune tweaks has lead great mileage. Could have easily gone the other way and ran like crap with crappy mileage. These things are next to impossible to figure out when there are no codes. You can only log and have access to someone who can interpret the data.

I would say that 12L/100k is perfect. I spent most of the the early part of the year in the 15-17 range. Some of that was running maf-less. It seems out side of tune I gained mgs with ICM delete and coilpack conversion, gained more MPGs by replacing check valves and sealing minor leaks in vacuum and charge side , more when I put in the crankcase system.

Pretty good, though in my TDI I'm averaging between 4.5L/100km and 5.5L/100km .

When do you think you will have the motor back in? Would be great to see it with the motor in but not all loaded up so we can still see everything.

i don't, but that millage!!! looked at my PID on the way in to work... 13.7 average.. what kind of hardware problems are you having??

it took almost a full year to get the car to where it is now, but i wouldn't change a thing.

Most of my driving is the Henday and I will usually get around 450-500, but that drops to 400 or less real quick if I start getting into it.

Highway I think the best I mustered was 550.
