coilpack time

It is time to do the coil packs in my b6 avant. As far as i know they are they are only the second set used on the car, the first being replaced under the recall at 75,000ish km. Ive hit 210,000km now and my #2 cylinder is having random misfires every few days.
Also, My wagon has stage 1+ tune and a full exhaust with the cat deleted.

-I was planning on replacing just the one for now and keep a new spare in case another gives up. Bad idea?
-Do they often all go around the same time?
-Is the dealer the best/easiest place to get them?
-I'm looking for reliability>performance. Its just a daily driver.
-The internet tells me there are a whole pile of revisions and different versions available. What do you guys use or what would you suggest?

On my Gli, after one went the other 3 went within 10 days.

when I do the coil on the passat it's getting the 034 2.0t coil conversion kit.

yea funny enough my s4 has 180k on it now and still has the original coils on it from first day.. i want to probably do the 2.0t conversion too but have to wait until i need to replace my plugs again

The rev.D and newer were the ones that fixed the reliability issues.

I do happen to have a set of four left over from my b6 days, if you want a good deal

thanks PRY4SNO, but i grabbed a new one after work. I just didn't like driving while knowing one is about to crap out on me.

i'll order a new set tonight and keep the one i picked up as a spare.

I always order mine from ECS. Hard to beat $80 for a set of 4. I ended up ordering 2 sets, replacing one set and keeping two extras in the trunk just in case the coil packs do go out again. Highly suggest it.

x2 on this being the way to go. You can gap your spark plugs to larger gaps and they won't foul as quickly, from what i have found is a smoother idle, and very reliable so far
