    Re: The rebuild begins...

If your not going to slap a big ass turbo dont worry about reving to 8000. Best way to have a good motor and not worry about it coming apart. Drop in rods and new rings. You wont bend a rod or cook a piston.

Also, with a GT28 you wont see much benefit being able to rev that high. The turbo will run out of breath first.

$260 later in gaskets, $700 in internals and $45 in bolts and we are in business folks! Just waiting for them to land!

$1400 for a rebuild ain't to bad eh?

Also does one of you own the all silver S4 that frequents deerfoot that kept trying to out pull a black A4? That was quite funny...

Progress marches on! I just received my cylinder head back from getting hot tanked! A big thanks to Bob at Economy Automotive on 17th, he's a great friend!

I'm just waiting on the block to come back from being bored and I can begin putting it together. Motor swap should begin next weekend.

Doesn't matter, stock cams don't flow worth a damn past 7200-7500. Just do the rods and set your rev limiter to 7250 if you don't have the money to do the valvetrain. (PS: I'm running a Comp Triplex 5556 with the stock cams and I've done enough logs to know that the stock cams choke at around 400-425 CHP)

It is done! It drives good. I have a new fuel pump on the way as well, Bosch 042.

May be selling it though... Long story... Life is not being nice to me anymore.

It's not how it sounds. I live in country hills and work in Forest Lawn, so I take Stoney every day. So literally, you will see me on Stoney if you frequent it.
