There could be good money in doing this mod if someone was handy with a soldering iron.

i think you can, and it would say 'boost' or something, but no eta on these yet....

btw, i found out that i think the stock vw radios are compatible with full mfa clusters, no wiring needed, and no gamma needed. here is a pic:

however, gamma has RDS, i dont think NA radios have that... so if you want names of songs and stations showing on the mfa, you might need a gamma, otherwise it will only show station freq.

audi MFA's in north america show that, just radio station or CD track number, they dont do anything else. so perhaps you can get a similar using your stock NA headunit to do that.

If anyone wants one of these let me know, I can also make it in a numerical display also.

Yah I am interested in this. What is the price like though? Can you do it with an LCD numerical display on a wire that could be wired to a remote location in the car. I would like to do one in the rear view mirror, similar to the way that many cars display the temp. in the mirror.

I am looking for a real stealth boost guage.

You'll need "many" wires if you use 7 seg displays or LEDs, but there should be no problem running them to the rear view mirror... would look amazing.

You shouldn't need that many if you use a 7 seg display, you can buy a 7 seg controller for under 15bucks i think. and if that Motorolla chip converts the signal to electrical (Sorry, I didn't read the whole thing), you could just run the input into the 7seg controller. An LED bar would be a bit easier though. That doesn't look that hard, you could pick up all that stuff at Active (look for the guy in the leather vest, haha) or the one by C1 (B& sumthin I think).

LOL I use to work at active, Jerry is the guy in leather (even has a leather suit!). He even also drives a Mk3 TD Golf. A nice 7 seg display would be the best bet, you can even get them in blue now but very expensive (around $15-20 for the display only). Last time I checked the pressure sensor was around $25. There is also a way to get a signal off the ecu wiring harness to make a boost guage but I don't think it is all that accurate. I will be looking in the future to make a couple up with nice metal encloses etc so if anyone is interested let me know.
