        I agree with Ryan, obviously the price difference is something that impacts a lot of our relative interest, there is also the fact that this is a concept so far and not a production model and also I think with the MK7 R making a significant power jump but the new M4/3 being relatively the same in HP makes it slightly less impacting, not that there is anything wrong with 420hp, of course.

        Some pics of the M3 or the sedan version testing as well.

                Re: BMW M4 Coupe Concept

                Specifics on the specs and details released by BMW:

                BMW disclosed yesterday during Technology Days preliminary technical details about the 2014 M3 Sedan and M4 Coupe.

                Power will come from a brand new high-revving inline-six 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo engine outputting around 430 HP (316 kW) at 7,500 rpm and a maximum torque of more than 500 Nm (369 lb-ft). Aside from being more powerful, the new engine will enable the M3 Sedan to have a 25 percent lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. BMW mentions they were able to lower the M3 Sedan's weight to less than 1,500 kg (3,306 lbs).

                The newly developed S55 engine has a closed-deck crankcase design and comes with two mono-scroll turbochargers. BMW's engineers implemented a forged crankshaft which is not only lighter but also more rigid and thanks to the diminished rotating masses it enables the engine to provide better acceleration and response.

                BMW M division chief, Freidrich Nitschke, hinted at an even lighter version tipping the scales at around 1,400 kg (3,086 lbs) thanks to a more simplistic interior cabin, lightweight seats and other weight-saving techniques. If approved for production, this lighter M3 version could bring back the CSL moniker.

                And perhaps a bit of a handful as one had a minor crash at the 'Ring this week too

                  Don't know how Audi will sell the RS5 after this.

                      Re: BMW M4 Coupe Concept

                      Well I think the RS5 is near the end of its life and the whole A5 platform is getting a bit long in the teeth and despite what Audi may want people to think it is not as much a drivers car and people who go for them are looking for something a bit different, Quattro and a bit more style than substance. The M3 has always been the class leader in terms of handling and the driving experience but they can be very common so I think that leaves on opportunity for Audi and MB (C63) to offer the market something a bit different, and with a new round starting we will see what the reactions will be.

                        i would still way rather own an rs5 than or even the c63. sure like blair said this may be the best "performing" car, but in terms of looks. i dont think you can beat audi styling. i have always preferred audi over bmw styling and even mercedes over bmw in some cases.

                            Re: BMW M4 Coupe Concept

                            I am surprised I have not seen one yet, but here is some teaser info on the M4 GTS;

                            According to a recent report, BMW is preparing to celebrate their 100th anniversary by introducing a hardcore M4 Coupe in 2016.

                            Details are limited, but Motoring is reporting that several sources have confirmed the company is developing a lightweight, track-focused version of the M4 Coupe which could be called the GTS.

                            Little is known about the model but it is expected to be offered exclusively with a manual transmission and could weigh less than 1400 kg (3086 lbs) thanks to aluminum doors and additional carbon fiber components. We can also expect a stripped out interior with lightweight racing seats and Alcantara upholstery.

                            Nothing has been finalized as of yet but one source noted "For what we are planning, look more to the M3 GTS than the CSL." The source went on to explain that it's hard to create a modern-day CSL as the standard M4 already incorporates a number of weight saving measures.
