BMW Wheels on my B6 A4

So as some of you may know I'm looking for wheels and I've found a set of 18" BMW 5 series rims for $300. They seem to be on good shape and I know I'll need to set aside some money for adapters and such to adapt the 5x112 hub to the BMW 5x120 wheels. My question is, if the BMW wheels have a +15 offset and Audis tend to run a +35-40 ish range, would a 15mm adapter ensure they fit correctly? Because they are sweet wheels and I was planning on running adapters anyways to make them sit nice and flush PLUS they are $300 for 5series OEM wheels which sounds good to me!

I've never messed around with offsets or adapters before so I could use a bit of info!

Im a little confused.

If the BMW wheels are +15, running a 15mm spacer will result in them being 0 offset.

See, like I said I've never messed around with offsets before so I don't really know. I always thought spacers increased offset.

not worth it in my opinion, 0 offset will look like garbage. By the time you buy adapters and tires you could have gotten something that fits for the same cost or less

I would try to do a bit of research by yourself before you come to the forums with these type of questions. I am not trying to be a dick or anything, I just think that a basic understanding of wheel stats and how wheel stats work would give you a better understanding of what you are looking for. Then you can ask model specific questions about your particular vehicle and how you want your wheels to sit and then when you narrow it down people can give experienced opinions about fitment and what will or will not work.

^ really? you guys are all about wheel fitment. he gave fairly specific info on his set up and car make. talk about an uninformative informed post. how do you know he didn't research anything and figued that the guys here might just have the answer in coles notes.

How much offset is on the stock wheel? Like ET40? ET0 is way too much poke for your A4.

I do have a basic understanding of how offset works. I just get easily confused when it comes to offset for some reason. I can never picture it properly when I think about it in my head. Like I said, I've never done much by means of wheels or stance or poke or anything. Just a question. My real question was whether or not I would be able to safely run these wheels on my car and how they would sit. I checked all your boxes. Now that I know they wouldn't look great with 0 offset, I will take from it that I shouldn't buy them regardless of how cheap they are. Thanks though to everyone who was actually helpful. Haha.

How much offset is on the stock wheel? Like ET40? ET0 is way too much poke for your A4.

It's either +35 or +40

I have a set of 18' BMW 335i wheels I'm my garage if you are interested.
The concave (style 162).
I would sell them for $550
A few guys on the forum have run these wheels on VW's and they look fantastic.

8.5x18 et37(rears)
8x18 et34 ( fronts)




I'd love to sell them and get my new summers on !!

Well if you want a helpful post here we go

a stock wheel on a a4 is 7" in width and has an offset of +35 mm in front of the wheel center-line. So lets convert the wheel width into mm and do some math 7" x 25.4= 177.8mm . So the factory wheel will sit 177.5/2(wheel center-line) -35mm= 53.9mm from the front face of the wheel to the wheel mounting point(rotor)of the wheel.
Now the BMW wheel is 8"(203.2mm) wide with a 0 offset after the thinnest adapter that leaves the wheel sticking out 101.6mm past the rotor.

Go out take a wheel off and tape a string with a couple of washers tied to the end to the outside off your fender at the wheel center point and measure the distance back to the rotor face from the string, this is the space you have until the rim sticks out past the fender. Or Measure from the outside lip of your current wheel and add 47.7mm.

I hope this helps, as this method can generally be used to pretty much get a perfect fitment on most vehicles, minus factoring in camber which is allot more math and explaining.

Are you sure the BMW wheel has a +15 offset? Seems real low for an OEM wheel.
