  • 9" wheels on a B6?

Hey guys so I've been looking around at wheels to replace my stock 5 spokes for a while and I always did like the Volk TE37 and I found a nice set of replica TE37 style rims on canadawheels.com
I want to run a wider setup and I also want a bit of stretch, I know my 225s will stretch over the 9" rim just fine but I dont want to buy the rim and find out it is too wide and that I should have gone with an 8" after spending $700 on them.
Will I need spacers? I'm still on OEM sport package suspension which sits 3/4" lower than stock in case that's relevant.

    Link: https://www.canadawheels.ca/Fast-Whe...rey-5X112-5094

I was looking at the 17x9, +35 offset, 73mm centre bore.
    Serious input appreciated!
Ps: my reason for replacing my stock wheels is that the all-season rubber I have on them is around $400ish a tire so I want to get as much use out of them and then eventually pick up some 18" summers when I need new rubber on the 17s.

On stock suspension it will fit no problems. You won't need spacers. If you want to go low later down the road you may have to roll the fenders

I'm running 19x9 front and 19x10 rears. Can't tell you the offset off the top of my head

Edit: just saw that your looking at 17s. I really wouldn't bother. Buy nice or buy twice. Sell the tires off your 17s, use the money for 18s and some new tires. Use the 17s for winters

      ^^ This.

And, have to ask: why run more rubber out back? Are you intentionally trying for more understeer, or don't drive the car hard enough to care?

Hub size doesn't matter. Hub centric rings fix that.

I would guess hes referring to me.

Theres no track here to drive the car hard. You would never notice it during city driving.

If I were to track the car it wouldn't be on that set of wheels.

Yeah I was just curious is all, not trying to be aggro.

I ran 19x9 on coilovers with a tiny bit of stretch. Got a little rub when the car was loaded down, and had to bend some brackets that hold the fender lining up, but zero rub when driving with only me in the car.

Thanks for the help guys, the "buy nice or buy twice" kind of stuck so now I'm thinking I'm gonna just wait and go 18s or 19s when I have the money to blow. I'm thinking 9" with a 225 for a little stretch but nothing ridiculous. Again, thanks!

If you have those in a couple months I will absolutely 100% buy them! I'm just still a teeny bit underfunded as I am in high school and only working 1 day a week because I work at South Centre VW and their hours do not work well with my school schedule.. Haha very nice wheels! As I said, I will for sure buy them when I start full time!!
