New year new you, kinda i guess. The build still moves on. Have a few more thing yet to arrive,

    BOV
    ARP crank bolt
    Crank lock tool (loan)
    Serp tensioner
    Etc

Finally picked up my Vems ECU awhile back so im set there. Im.sure the tuning will drive me crazy...again.

Got my compressor housing coated, and got around to pulling the old engine out, and im going to clean up the brackets and such. Probably just Por15 the brackets to make them easy to keep clean.

Engine will hopfully be in the car by next weekend pending the arrival of the needed parts still.

For my first engine pull ever ill say pretty happy. Did it 100% alone , Nothing broke, never had to lift the car off the ground, and the AC and PS systems remained unopened.

Out with the old, and in with the new....soon.

I have finally got my new manifold and downpipe. Its all mocked up for now. Will be getting it ceramic coated eventually. Looking to swap the engine in to the Urs4 this Dec.

Once i get the old ( old but perfect) engine pulled, ill be selling all of the current turbo set up ( Volvo K24-7400) to fund a new ECU. Either Maxxecu, Ecu Master , or Vems once again. This engine deserves a perfect tune.

Im also now running a MASSIVE 31x3x12 intercooler which has really improved alot of the topend and oddly has not dropped much boost. In cooler temps i see 28-29 psi and in warmer i see 25-26 psi. Requested is 27-28. On the stock IC i was seeing 27 spike.

    Lots of changes,

Race3motorsport failed to come through, now im probably 4 months or more behind. Next year now!

Turbo choice is confirmed, Borg Warner S257 SX-E.
    FMIC is installed.
My Inovate WB02 **** the bed, new one coming.
    Pics eventually lol.

Managed to finally, after 2 years, get my AFRs in check. Car is now pullkmg a nice 11.7 AFR under boost and pulls HARD now. I do have a speed density tune also coming for the car, but that will be closer to the end of summer i think.

I have swapped out my engine mounts for a set of stock mounts and ler me tell you, if you never launch...poly is overrated. Stock is sooooo nice.

Built engine talk: The engine is still on the stand, after some poundering ive decided to change the turbo and manifold. Changing from the Wagner cast manifold to a custom tubular manifold from Race3motorsport in Ontario. Turbo choice is most likley going to be an Persicion 5858 as i want to get as close to 500whp on pump gas. Manifold is 4-6 weeks away, and im not sure if ill have the turbo for that by then and still need to fab up a DP and screamer pipe.

I did get the fluidamper finally sorted and installed, so there is that.

Made some more progress on the EFR preperation. Im trying to sort out all the little things before a big swap to ensure things are copacetic.

Installed Walbro 450 fuel pump. Fuel pressure now 66 psi idle
Installed new boost gauge ( Podi )
Installed W/M controller ( just the gauge for now )
    Installed innovate WB02 ( monitoring)

Trying to figure out why im running so rich, i unplugged the stock 02 and ran in open loop mode. Found the following AFR results:

    Cold idle - 10.5-10.6
    Warm idle - 10.8-10.9
    2k cruise - 11.0
    2.5k cruise- 11.1-11.2
    WOT 4k to 7k -9.8 consistant.

With the 02 plugged in the ECU corrects the cruise and the Warm idle to 14.7-14.9 AFR. On cold idle, its at 10.5 and at WOT its at 9.8-10.2. I have another revision coming from EFI express.

Im holding of on the WM install until i get this setup running well enough that im confortable with the whole setup.

    Re: Kenny's UrS4

Been a while since ive updated this thread, i was trying to focus on the coupe i bought. I reached a point where i realized the Coupe would never be what i wanted. It was much more of a full restoration then a simple build. The Coupe is sold, and im gonna focus on the UrS this summer. The engine is build to hold just north of 550Whp, but im only planning to hit mid 400s this summer. For next summer ill be looking to get closer to that 550whp mark.

I will be installing the AAN engine i build this spring. The specs are:

    Block was tanked and decked
    Por15 on the block
    Issam crank breather
    Issam billet thermostat housing
    034 billet coolant outlet
    DM Forged AAN rods
    Calico coated main bearings
    Calico coated rod bearing
    Stock pistons with ceramic coatings
    Rings Gapped to .19
    Ballanced Crankshaft
    Fluidamper crank damper.
All bearing clearances confirmed re checked and documented.
(All hand build by me alone)

    Cylinder head rebuild specs:
    Vapor hone cleaning
    Stock valve springs
    Stock retainers
    Stock keepers
    Ferrea 6000 series valves
    7A cam shafts
    New timing chain
    ARP Head studs
    MLS head gasket
    7A Valve cover powdercoated purple
    Audi R8 coil packs
    (All hand build by me)

    Turbo setup
    EFR 6258 ( for now )
    Wagner HO RS2 exhaust manifold
3" SS downpipe with Vband into a 3in with 1 MF muffler
Stock rebuilt wastegate with 1.9bar spring

    Engine Management:
    Audi AAN ECU
    3BAR Map sensor
EFI Express chip set ( 94 Oct with W/M)
    Innovate AFR gauge
Podi Boost gauge ( new one )

    Intake setup
    Snow performance W/M setup
    Stock AAN intake manifold
    034 intake spacer
    Stock UrS intercooler

    Fueling
    630cc injectors
    Walbro 450 intank pump
    EFI Express dual pump bracket

    Clutch
Southbend 7A clutch stage 2 PP stage 4 Disc.
    034 lightweight Aluminum flywheel
034 all metal throw out bearing
    ARP FW bolts (7A fitment)

Sent the Fluidamper to Issam today for some light machine work. Planning this swap in the next few weeks. Id like to try and get a few 1/4mi passes on the current k24 7400 setup before i put in the built engine.

Parts and services for this build came from the following distributor's:
    Autobahn performance
    Fourstar motors
BEL engine services ( fixing previous machine shop mess up)
    INA engineering
    EFI express
    034 motorsport
    Ferrea valves
    Podi.ca

Powdecoating, media blasting and Ceramic coating services
    Fourstar motors ( Edmonton)
    Strongarm cylinder heads (Panoka)

People who have gone out of their way to help
Lars Bjornstad ( previous owner of Coupe)
    Nate Jesperson
    Dustin Donovan
    Neacail Campbell (Fourstar Motors)
    Sterling Ball
Jeff Gerner (Worlds fastest C4 S4) spent hours on the phone with me.
    Remi Szafransk (Autobahn Performance)

These people gave me their time, help, advice, donations, parts, connections, name it, they were there. Huge thanks for their continued support as this project get closer to completion.

Ill update more in a bit, i need to peel potatoes now lol
