Do you think it had anything to do with your homemade pcv system? Just curious is all

Sorry to hear as that will likely be a financial hit for you.

Any chance the new owner will show progress of the conversion?

I was wondering that also. Piston should never be able to hit a plug. Timing belt going would cause a valve and a piston to contact. Even a broken rod would more likely go through the block sideways rather that travel along its normal path. Seems strange that the plug and piston would com in contact on a 5v head. Anybody see this before?

Thanks man, it is sad. But I'm moving on now. I will have something new in the next week or so I hope. Less power but that's ok.

It's not a hit really, it's sad but it may save me money in the long run. The new owner will keep me posted and I will keep us all posted. He's going for the usp clone of there vr6 s4

I have seen this before, a spun bearing will allow just enough travel for the piston to hit the head or plug.. Another scenario is that timing belt snapped and smashed a valve causing it to somehow to hit the plug..

Was this a stage three car??

Second time i post this link this week: http://www.4secondsflat.com/Spark_plug_reading.html

"a little too much timing and or not enough fuel. Note the spark plugs completely melted. The piston detonated itself into fragments and beat the combustion chamber to a pulp...his day was done"

So it appears that too much timing and a lean condition may have been the issue here. Do you have any recent logs? Was your tune an aggressive 3- ?
