i have ALH love too, but this sedan in rs3 format will be hot, even the s3 for a winter beater would be amazing

anyway i am liking the shape of this thing alot its perfect from every angle

I didn't know this but supposedly the base model A3 Sedan sees a RETURN OF THE 1.8T

Well not the same engine but they are going down from the 2.0

The 1.8 TFSI at 180hp represents the top of the line petrol/gas engine trim on the A3 hatches here currently, they also offer 1.2 and 1.4 options. The sedan looks to be similar but no 1.2 option, obviously these are the non S models, but you can get an S Line trim in every engine option here too.

The new 1.8 TSI (or TFSI - can't remember what it's actually called) was brought up in another thread not too long ago... probably the MK7 Golf thread. It's basically just a replacement for the 2.5L engine. I'm guessing this will use the same engine, probably just tuned a bit differently like VW/Audi are currently doing with the 2.0T - VW makes 200HP whereas the Audi variant makes 211HP IIRC.

well sitting in a new A3 s-line on the weekend this car is amazing!! the interior vents were a bit funky but the rest is awesome IMO.. can't wait to see s3 and hopefully RS3 here and that'll be a pure win

Possible S3 Plus in the works...

A mysterious Audi S3 Sedan prototype was spied undergoing testing around the Nürburgring in Germany.

It was little over a year ago when Audi unveiled the S3 Sedan so it's too soon for a makeover. Although Audi has shown recently a strong interest in high-performance diesels, judging by the soundtrack provided by the prototype we are dealing with a gasoline engine-powered vehicle. It's not the forthcoming RS3 since it doesn't have any camouflage and it looks the same as the S3 Sedan.

Taking all these facts into consideration, Audi is probably testing the rumored S3 Plus set to bridge the gap between the S3 and the RS3. The former has 300 PS coming from a 4-cylinder 2.0 TFSI while the latter will have around 360 PS from a 5-cylinder 2.5 TFSI, with a 400+ PS version being considered. A report issued back in January referred to an S3 Plus with 375 PS due in 2015 but obviously that won't happen and if there will be such a model, expect output to stand at around 330 PS.
