  • 9.5's all around?

looking at a set of wheels not sure if i want to go staggered (8.5 front 9.5 rear) or 9.5 all around, would 9.5 et 40 all around be problematic???

    B5 s4... fenders are rolled.

    cheers,

    Re: 9.5's all around?

Top upright in the rear suspension could be an issue with 9.5

Edit unless you are a WB B5 you probably aren't getting 9.5s anywhere on the car especially with +40 offset

      Looking for more understeer?

That's what you'll get with rear stagger on these cars. There's a reason the MTM RSR had reverse stagger (bigger up front). Same reason the 911 has wider section rubber in the rear... that's where the bulk (engine) is.

You should have mentioned you wanted to put a 195 tire on it and we would have said not to do it for other reasons.

And remember when getting new wheels just order the right offset then no spacers are needed.

                  Re: 9.5's all around?

Those fenders look like they have a bit more done then a simple roll as well...a lot also depends on your ride height. I dont think the Mexi-poke/hella flush etc etc really works unless the car is slammed.

9's work easily in the rear without much work (et dependant of course) and you should be able to fit 9's up front as well. 8s or 8.5 work much better. To keep front and back flush you typically need a bit more space/et out back to keep them as flush as the fronts.

(Going off my 19x8.5s 35et. Fronts were flush, rears could have used a 5-10mm spacer for the same effect.)

Looking at 18's or 19s? ( I might know of a nice set of 19s for sale...)

                    Re: 9.5's all around?

haha Mark, i love your wheels i just dont want to get into a set of 19', i think with the higher ET ill need spacers in the back to make them flush, i was concerned more about the front i think an 8.5 would be easier to deal with and give me more than enough steering clearance.. so that may just be the way to go... there are more than a few people running 9.5's in the rear so im not overly concerned about that.

Wide wheels mean you can stretch tires and get the wheel fitting closer to the fender. If you have a narrow wheel and do this, you end up with no contact area on the tire because you need to run a narrower tire. Don't get mad because you think "stance" is stupid.
