I would say you seem to be the most mad about someone not liking stance.

And for everything other than a possible aesthetic appeal it is pretty stupid.

Also a little LOL about worrying about contact patch on a Stanced car.

Not mad at all, I was simply answering your question about why somebody would want to run a wide wheel. Not everybody daily drives a racecar like you.

I was actually just curious as to the actual reason for a 9.5" wide wheel. I don't care if he wants "stance" or whatever. 9.5 just seems wide for the size of tires that clear on these cars.

Id guess its mostly for aesthetics.. most wheels start to have the concave look with a 9"+ width.

My new wheels are staggered, (8F, 9R) but Im hoping to do something about that.

9.5's all around would look really cool, and a 225 stretched on them would look even cooler!!form over function FTW!!

I can't say my s4 has much for looks wheels wise. I bought the lightest, smallest wheels that fit on the car and plan on putting the biggest widest tire I can fit.

You run the Kosei's? I think those are regraded as some of the lightest wheels that are affordable.

Since I dont really track or autocross my car, I try to find a good balance of looks and performance.

Yep kosei k1 ts. I drag, autocross and road race my car so weight and tire is at the top of my list. The kosei saved me 131lbs when I pull the spare.

I ran 9.75 inch wheels all around on my b5 s4 last summer. 20 offset on all corners. Very slight roll on all 4 fenders the rear needed a bit more work than the fronts to not rub. I'd say to clear the front brakes you would need at very least 25 offset with the 9.5's. Also depends how low your car is.

                              I was running 225/40/18 tires
