Audi has unveiled the 2013 RS5 Cabrio, ahead of its debut at the Paris Motor Show.
Looking virtually identical to the coupe, the convertible features a lightweight soft top that can be opened in 15 seconds while traveling at speeds up to 50 km/h (31 mph). The model has also been outfitted with LED-infused headlights, matte aluminum trim and 19-inch forged aluminum wheels. Other highlights include a rear diffuser, a dual exhaust system and a carbon fiber rear spoiler.
The elegant cabin carries over and comes nicely equipped with a flat-bottom steering wheel, leather / Alcantara sport seats, metallic accents and carbon fiber trim. There's also heated front seats, a wind deflector and a driver information system.
Motivation is provided by a 4.2-liter V8 engine that produces 450 HP (331 kW) and 430 Nm (317 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to a seven-speed S tronic transmission and a rear-biased quattro all-wheel drive system. This enables the convertible to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and hit a limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). Upon request, Audi can increase the threshold to 280 km/h (174 mph).
The 2013 Audi RS5 Cabrio will go on sale early next year and German pricing starts at €88,500.
